The chairman of a prominent Russian oil company has died after reportedly falling out of a hospital window in Moscow.

Ravil Maganov, the chairman of Lukoil, died after falling from a sixth-floor window at Moscow's Central Clinical Hospital. Lukoil confirmed his death, saying Maganov died of a "severe illness" and declined to comment further.

Earlier this year, Maganov called for the war in Ukraine "to end as soon as possible." He also expressed his sympathy to victims of "this tragedy."

Maganovs death is the latest of a number of high-profile oil executives to die by mysterious circumstances in the last few months.
